Budhanoor Gramaseva Parishath, a voluntary organization registered under Travancore Cochin Charitable Societies Act 1955 (Reg.No.A67/2000) is working for the uplift of the under privileged. It has extended helping hand to the needy by taking care of their physical, psychological and educational needs. For the last more than two decade Parishath has been making its presence felt in the social life of this locality by organizing medical camps, providing educational assistance to students in need and conducting cultural meetings. Rehabilitation of children especially girls, with poverty, social insecurity and miserable living condition was a thought provoking problem before us. Parishath has been in search of a suitable place to provide at most care for hapless girls. Balika Sadanam established in a modest rented house on 17-08-2009 (1-Chingam 1184) is the fructification of our effort.
Forty girls are now enjoying the love and care of the society under close supervision of an old mother assisted by two matrons, with whole hearted support of a band of Parishath workers. More and more applicants are in the queue. The children require food, raiments and shelter besides education and timely medical care. Running cost of the sadanam is met out of contributions received from well wishers as offerings on special occasions to remember like birthday, anniversary and other solemn functions. Samithi is well aware of the responsibility to ensure that these children are brought up as ideal citizen of future India. Whole hearted supports from all sources are required for this noble venture a success.
